How to Make Jello Shots

Learning how to make jello shots is pretty simple. Even though you might think they are just for the younger generation of drinkers, having jello shots at your own party livens things up considerably.

  1. First: Gather your ingredients

Gather together the items you need to make the shots. Determine the correct alcohol to water ratio to ensure that the jello sets up and the shots are not overly sweet tasting. You need small shot-size containers, a tray, vodka, a box of your favorite flavor of jello, a ladle, 6oz. of cold water and 16 oz. of boiling water.

  2. Second: Preparing the Jello

Place 16 oz. of water in a pan and bring it to a boil. When the water starts boiling, pour in the jello, stirring until it is totally dissolved. Remove the pan from the heat and add 6 oz. of cold water and 10 oz. of vodka and mix this all together thoroughly.

  3. Third: The finishing touches

Arrange the shot containers on a large tray and ladle the jello mixture into them. Once you fill all the containers put the tray into a refrigerator for at least two hours so the jello sets. Keep in mind that the stronger the alcohol is, the more cold water you need to add so that the jello sets properly. To add some colorful variety to the mix, use various flavors of jello. Remember, jello shots do not taste like they have booze in them, so tell your guests to consume them responsibly.
